Moers Music - Das Label

Moers Music ist das Plattenlabel aus Moers am Niederrhein, 1972 gegründet von Burkhard Hennen, dem Gründer des legendären Moers Festivals. Seit über 50 Jahren dokumentiert das Label, was Moers weltberühmt gemacht hat: mutigen, freien und grenzüberschreitenden Jazz.

Im Katalog finden sich Live-Mitschnitte vom Moers Festival, Konzertaufnahmen und exklusive Studioproduktionen aus aller Welt, von Free Jazz und Avantgarde über Free Funk und Big Band bis zu elektronischer Musik und Weltmusik. Zu den Künstlern gehören das World Saxophone Quartet, James Blood Ulmer, das Vienna Art Orchestra mit Mathias Rüegg, Anthony Braxton, Ronald Shannon Jackson, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, John Carter, Odean Pope, Ned Rothenberg, David Moss, Richard Teitelbaum und viele mehr. Viele dieser Aufnahmen gelten heute als Schlüsselwerke des europäischen und amerikanischen Jazz.

Moers Music is the record label from Moers, Germany, founded in 1972 by Burkhard Hennen, the founder of the legendary Moers Festival. For more than 50 years, the label has documented what made Moers famous around the world: bold, free and boundary-breaking jazz.

The catalogue includes live recordings from the Moers Festival, concert recordings and exclusive studio productions from around the world, from free jazz and avant-garde to free funk, big band, electronic music and world music.
